About Kudadoo Maldives

Before starting this review of Kudadoo Private Island Maldives, let’s give you a quick introduction about this amazing luxury resort.

Kudadoo Maldives Private Island is one of the most unique luxury resorts in the Maldives and a dream destination for travelers who want the very best. This review of Kudadoo Maldives will explain why it stands out from other resorts, especially thanks to its signature Anything, Anytime, Anywhere (AAA) concept.

The AAA package means that literally everything is included: unlimited spa treatments, premium dining, champagne and fine wines, diving, motorized water sports, destination dinings and bespoke experiences. Only a few exceptions are not included as part of this luxury all-inclusive plan (private yacht charter, ultra premium champagnes like Dom Perignon, PADI certifications for the diving, any items in the boutique,…).

No other resort in the Maldives offers this level of freedom and luxury without breaking the bank (the only competitor would be Soneva Secret or Soneva Jani with their Soneva Unlimited plans, but the prices are way above Kudadoo’s).

What makes Kudadoo so unique and definitely something we’ll cover in this review is its size. The resort is intimate, with only 15 overwater residences, and even though it is not adults-only, it feels extremely private and quiet. This makes Kudadoo the best Maldives resort for honeymooners or couples looking for total relaxation in an exclusive setting.

Transfer & Arrival

Getting to Kudadoo Maldives is already part of the experience. Most guests arrive via a 40-minute seaplane from Malé, followed by a short 5–10 minute speedboat transfer. We personally came from Hurawalhi (its sister property) onboard the Bella luxury yacht, which took just 25 minutes. On the boat, the General manager of the resort was with us, coming from Hurawalhi which he also manages. A perfect moment to get to discuss and prepare our arrival at Kudadoo.

On arrival, the full team (including spa therapists, butlers, and chefs) was waiting for us with warm smiles. This first impression showed us exactly what to expect during our stay: exceptional service and hospitality. We will get back more in details about the service later in this in-depth review of Kudadoo Maldives.

Our villa: One Bedroom Overwater Residence (N°3)

For this Kudadoo Maldives Private Island review, we stayed in villa 3, a One Bedroom Overwater Residence. It was one of the most spacious and luxurious villas we have ever seen in the Maldives.

The villa featured a 44 sqm infinity pool, a large outdoor deck with multiple dining and lounging spots, and an indoor in-villa spa room where we enjoyed massages whenever we wanted. The bedroom had a super comfortable bed and panoramic views over the ocean with the reef just a few meters away.

The minibar was fully stocked with champagne, fine wines, and snacks. All included, of course! Best of all, the reef started only a few meters away, so we could snorkel straight from our villa. We will get back to snorkeling more in details a bit later in this review of Kudadoo Private Island.

Villa recommendation: If you plan to stay at Kudadoo, go for villas 2 to 8 (with 8 being the best for sunsets). Villas 9–15 face Hinnavaru island and are less private. When booking with us, we would of course make sure to request the best possible villa for you, in order to have the most amazing experience.

Island Beauty

Kudadoo is a small and super exclusive luxury resort located on a tiny island, but its beauty lies in its exclusivity. The lagoon is crystal-clear, the beaches are pristine, and the vegetation is carefully maintained. There’s even a paddle tennis court, which is unusual for such a tiny island.

While it’s not the lushest or largest island in the Maldives, it more than makes up for it with its privacy, atmosphere, and luxury concept.

Service & Staff

As expected from such an exclusive resort, service at Kudadoo Maldives Private Island was on another level. Our butler took care of everything, from planning excursions to arranging destination dining. The staff knew our names, preferences, and always went the extra mile.

This personalized attention made us feel like we were the only guests on the island. It is this boutique luxury service that truly elevates Kudadoo compared to bigger Maldives resorts.

Before you arrive, your buttler will send you an itinerary directly on Kudadoo’s mobile app. From there, you’ll already have an overview of what is planned for you during your stay. Of course, you are totally free to add or remove anything, if you think that your itinerary is lacking some key experiences or if you’d prefer to just chill in your villa and do basically nothing during your stay.

No matter what, the service is really something that’s truly part of the experience at Kudadoo. Our review for this is really excellent and you can be sure that you will feel very special if you choose Kudadoo resort.

Food & Beverages

One of the highlights of this review of Kudadoo Maldives is the incredible food and beverage offering. Thanks to the AAA concept, you can eat and drink anything, anytime, anywhere.

There is one main restaurant, but we also had meals in our villa and on the beach. We loved starting one day with a floating breakfast in our villa and later enjoyed a romantic beach dinner under the stars.

Some dishes we highly recommend:

• Snapper ceviche

• Black cod

• Prawn tacos

• Tiramisu

The cocktails were excellent, and the champagne list was impressive: Ruinart, Louis Roederer, Taittinger, and more, all included.

Normally, destination dining experiences in the Maldives cost hundreds of dollars, but at Kudadoo they’re part of the package. This makes dining feel indulgent without limits.

As for the menu, even though there’s only one restaurant, it is super extensive with basically anything you can dream of. Even lobster or very premium products are included and the only thing in the whole menu that was at extra charge was caviar.

Also, if there’s anything you fancy eating but that isn’t in the menu, the chefs will always be super accommodating to cook something special for you, upon request. This is what makes Kudadoo truly special, with a super deep care for clients’ satisfaction.

Additionally, in-villa dining is of course included. So you can, like us, have breakfast lunch and dinner in the villa if you don’t feel like walking to the main restaurant.

Activities & Experiences

Kudadoo Maldives offers more included activities than almost any other luxury resort. Here’s what stood out during our stay:

Jet-ski excursions: Both times we went, we were surrounded by dolphins.

Wakeboarding, waterskiing, and flyboarding: all these are super fun and you can do as much as you want. The highlight was the flyboarding that we were trying for the first time. It may seem impressive and difficult, but it’s actually super fun and easy.

As part of the AAA plan, you do get unlimited dives as long as you are a certified divers. The dives were great and we saw tons of schools of fish, rays, sharks and tens of turtles.

Fitness and sports: A well-equipped gym with Life Fitness machines, plus a padel court.

The freedom to try everything without worrying about cost made our stay feel incredibly special and definitely something worth mentioned in our review of Kudadoo.

Dream Island Excursion

To continue this review of Kudadoo Maldives Private Island, let’s talk about one very special activity offered at the resort.

One of our favorite memories was the excursion to Dream Island, a nearby sandbank shared with Hurawalhi. The picnic there includes champagne and nice canapés and fruits while surrounded by turquoise waters.

This private sandbank experience is included in the AAA concept, making it even more enjoyable. It’s a must-do during your stay.

You are basically allowed to stay there for as long as you want, but we would recommend staying between 2 to 3 hours. It can get very hot, even though you do have a covered area to relax without getting sunburnt.

The shades of blue and crystal clear water around Dream island sandbank are absolutely worth the small excursion (around 10min away from the resort).

The spa: to try everyday!

The Sulha Spa at Kudadoo Maldives is a wellness paradise. With unlimited treatments included in the AAA concept, we indulged daily, sometimes twice a day.

Guests can choose to enjoy treatments in the overwater spa or directly in their villa’s private spa room. The therapists were outstanding, delivering some of the best massages we’ve ever had in the Maldives. We are super picky when it comes to massage quality and they were absolutely perfect at Kudadoo. The therapists managed to know exactly what we needed, applying the perfect pressure. Also, we requested to stick with the same therapists everyday so that we were sure to have a consistent level of massage quality.

For wellness-focused travelers, this spa offering alone makes Kudadoo worth it.

The Main Pool at Kudadoo Maldives

Kudadoo features one central pool located in the main building, and it is a beautiful place to relax. Suspended over the lagoon, the pool blends seamlessly with the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, creating a serene atmosphere that perfectly matches the resort’s exclusivity.

That said, one thing to keep in mind is the view. From the pool deck you look directly out toward Hinnavaru island, a local island a few kilometers away. While it doesn’t ruin the experience, it does take away from the otherwise uninterrupted ocean panoramas that many travelers expect in the Maldives.

Despite that, the pool is still a highlight of the resort thanks to its setting and the unique experiences it offers. In fact, one evening we enjoyed a destination dining experience right in the pool. The staff set up a private table in the shallow area, surrounded by water, where we enjoyed an incredible dinner under the stars. It was one of the most memorable dining experiences of our stay and really shows how flexible Kudadoo’s “Anything. Anytime. Anywhere.” philosophy is.

Snorkeling at Kudadoo Maldives

One of the things that makes Kudadoo stand out from many other luxury resorts in the Maldives is the excellent snorkeling right off the island. You can easily swim and snorkel 360° around the island, with direct access from every villa. The reef is overall in very good health, with vibrant corals and plenty of marine life.

The most interesting sections of the house reef are located in front of villas 2 to 5 as well as near the main building. These areas offer the richest coral formations and the best chance to spot larger marine creatures.

During our snorkeling sessions, we saw plenty of blacktip reef sharks, several turtles, and rays gliding gracefully through the lagoon. On top of that, we encountered multiple schools of colorful reef fish, making every swim feel like being inside an aquarium.

Overall, our review of Kudadoo Maldives Private Island is extremely positive when it comes to snorkeling. While many ultra-luxury resorts have limited house reefs (thinking of Cheval Blanc, Soneva Secret or Soneva Jani), Kudadoo is a true exception, offering some of the most enjoyable snorkeling experiences directly from your villa.

A Resort with an Excellent Value for Money

At first glance, Kudadoo Maldives Private Island may seem extremely expensive compared to many other luxury resorts in the Maldives. However, once you fully understand the Anything, Anytime, Anywhere (AAA) concept and what is included, the value for money becomes very clear.

With unlimited fine dining, premium beverages including top Champagne, unlimited spa treatments, motorized water sports, diving, excursions, and even destination dining experiences that would normally cost hundreds of dollars per person elsewhere, Kudadoo actually delivers one of the best value propositions in the Maldives for travelers who want to enjoy everything without limits.

If you were to add up the cost of just a few spa treatments, a handful of excursions, and premium dining at another resort, you would quickly reach (or exceed) the nightly rate of Kudadoo. Here, you never need to think about extras or hidden charges. Everything is already included, creating a sense of freedom and indulgence that very few resorts can match.

Just to give you an idea of prices in resorts of similar level, a 90min massage for 2 would cost 600 to 700 USD, one dive would cost 200 USD, 1h with 2 jet-skis would cost 800 USD, a private dinner on the beach would be around 500 USD and any drink or cocktail would be 25 to 40 USD. This should help you understand and compute how much of a great deal Kudadoo is actually delivering.

This is why, despite its high upfront price, our review of Kudadoo concludes that it offers excellent overall value for money, especially for honeymooners and active travelers who will take full advantage of the inclusions.

After six nights, we can confidently say that Kudadoo Maldives is one of the best luxury all-inclusive resorts in the Maldives. The AAA concept is truly unique and makes the experience unlike anywhere else in the world.

The value for money is exceptional when you consider everything included: unlimited spa treatments, diving, water sports, fine dining, champagne, and unique excursions.
