Four Seasons Bora Bora Resort Review
French Polynesia
If you're dreaming of luxury in paradise, the Four Seasons Bora Bora is one of the most iconic resorts in the South Pacific. Opened in 2008 and consistently ranked among the best resorts in the world, this property offers postcard views of Mount Otemanu, elegant overwater bungalows, and signature Four Seasons service.
The resort is located on a private motu (islet) just a 15-minute boat ride from Bora Bora Airport, making the journey smooth and scenic. With around 100 overwater bungalows and beachfront villas, it strikes a balance between size and intimacy. Spacious enough to offer options, but never overcrowded.
In this Four Seasons Bora Bora resort review, we’ll share our full experience, including our stay in a renovated overwater suite, the spa, dining, snorkeling, and more.

Natural Beauty & Island Setting
Few places rival the raw beauty of Bora Bora which is among our favorite destinations for honeymooon, and the Four Seasons is arguably set on one of its most privileged spots. The views of Mount Otemanu are uninterrupted and absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset.
The property is lush with tropical vegetation, white sand beaches, and vibrant turquoise water that looks exactly like what you see in travel magazines. Whether you're walking along the boardwalks, lounging by the pool, or sipping a drink at sunset, you're always surrounded by nature's finest.
It’s a resort that blends luxury and serenity, offering a tranquil, refined atmosphere ideal for couples and honeymooners.

Our Overwater Bungalow - Suite 426
Let’s continue this review of Four Seasons Bora Bora with our villa.
We stayed in a One-Bedroom Beach View Overwater Bungalow Suite, number 426, and it was a fantastic experience.
The suite had been recently renovated, giving it a refreshed, elegant look that still retained Polynesian charm. It felt warm and luxurious, with plenty of space both inside and out. The living area was well laid out, and the large outdoor deck offered beautiful views over the lagoon toward the beach.
A standout detail was the signature Four Seasons bed, which, as always, delivered the most restful sleep. If comfort is a priority, this bed is hard to beat.
The bathroom was spacious, with a soaking tub and double vanities, and the lagoon-facing design let in lots of natural light. It felt relaxing, modern, and perfect for unwinding after a day in the sun.
We also got to experience for a few hours a 2 bedroom beach villa which was absolutely unreal. The huge pool, the view, the level of privacy, everything is next level in this absolutely incredible villa. If you are going with your family and want to experience one of the best beach villas in the world, you should absolutely consider this one!

Spa & Wellness
We could not write a review of Four Seasons Bora Bora without talking about their world-famous spa.
The Te Mahana Spa at Four Seasons Bora Bora is one of the most peaceful and scenic we've visited. Built into a hillside and surrounded by lush greenery, the spa has a beautiful overwater treatment room, where we had one of our two massages. Floating above the calm lagoon during a treatment was simply unforgettable.
There’s also a spacious relaxation area, where you can sip herbal tea and enjoy the sound of the water. One of our favorite features was the jacuzzi with a view of Mount Otemanu, which is the perfect spot to take in the surroundings before or after your treatment.
The spa menu includes a wide selection of traditional Polynesian therapies as well as more modern treatments, all delivered with the professionalism you expect from the Four Seasons.

Snorkeling in the Lagoonarium
For those who love snorkeling or want to try it for the first time, the resort’s lagoonarium is a highlight. The waters are crystal-clear and calm, with zero current and no waves, making it extremely easy and safe to explore, even for beginners.
We saw tons of colorful reef fish, corals, and a few small rays during our snorkeling sessions. While it’s not wild reef snorkeling, the convenience of having this rich marine environment within the resort grounds makes it a great daily activity. It’s also a wonderful option for families or guests who aren’t confident swimmers.

Breakfast & Dining
To continue with this review of Four Seasons Bora Bora, we need to move on to the dining options.
Let’s start with breakfast. While the buffet selection was somewhat limited, the quality was outstanding. The standout? The pastries. We've rarely had such delicious baked goods in a tropical setting, especially the Pain Suisse, which we looked forward to each morning.
Service at breakfast was kind but occasionally slow. At times we waited a few minutes at the restaurant entrance before being seated, which could be improved, but once seated, everything went pretty smoothly.
The dinner experiences were excellent. The resort features a mix of Polynesian, French, and international cuisine, and each restaurant is beautifully set. We enjoyed perfectly cooked seafood, thoughtful presentation, and fresh ingredients. However, it’s important to note that prices are extremely high, even for Bora Bora standards.
If you’re planning to dine at the resort throughout your stay, be prepared for premium pricing even though the quality and setting do reflect it.

Pool & Common Areas
The main pool area is lovely, surrounded by palm trees and close to the beachfront. It’s a relaxing space with private cabanas available on a first-come, first-served basis. We liked how peaceful the atmosphere was. It never felt crowded or noisy.
The pool bar service was excellent, and we enjoyed lounging here during the afternoons when we weren’t out on excursions or snorkeling.

Service & Staff
As expected from Four Seasons, the staff were warm, professional, and friendly. From the check-in team to the spa therapists and housekeeping, everyone made us feel welcome and cared for.
That said, service at breakfast in particular could sometimes be slow. There were moments when we had to wait longer than expected, especially during peak hours. Same applies to the buggy service which sometimes took ages (30+min) to come, which we found a bit disappointing.
Outside of that, the team lived up to the brand’s reputation for hospitality and attention to detail.
Even though very good, the service could not match the one we experienced in the Maldives. You can learn more about this in our review of Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru and review of Four Seasons Kuda Huraa.
